About Us
BACKGROUND:
The Women’s Development Council, Inc. is a nonprofit
organization, formed in 1983 by businesswomen in
Northern Colorado. Our founders saw the need in our
community for opportunities for women to develop their
business skills through education, networking, and
community service. During the first few years, the
Women’s Development Council, Inc. provided educational
and motivational seminars to assist women entering the
workforce and established businesswomen in furthering
their careers. The seminars led to the creation of
separate businesswomen’s groups in the various cities in
Northern Colorado so that businesswomen may meet, learn,
and share new ideas on a more frequent and
individualized basis. We now oversee and assist four
businesswomen’s groups in Northern Colorado,
encompassing more than 250 businesswomen. Our meetings
are well-attended by our members and the public at
large. Each group provides its own unique opportunities
for women to grow personally and professionally by
learning from strong businesswomen in the community.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of the Women’s Development Council is to
develop, organize, and promote activities that educate,
encourage, support, and enhance the development of women
in business.
